Hawaii Invitational - Day 3 -
Wednesday, April 11 This morning we were back at the park, practicing for both the street and field competitions. With the view of Diamond Head, it was one of the most spectacular venues we've practiced at, and also one of the most humid. After practice the middle of the day was open for beach activities. By 4:45 everyone had made the transition from beachwear to marching uniforms for the parade. After warm-ups the parade began down Kalakaua Avenue, the "main drag" of Waikiki. At dusk, with the tiki torches blazing and the crowds cheering, the competition was a memorable experience. Click on a picture to view it full size |
